New Verizon Messages + App - Battery Drain, Slowness

Anyone else get the update today and is seeing app closures, slowness, battery drain?

- Cleared Data
- Deleted All Messages
- Cleaned up Cache for the whole OS


Anyone has a good, legit APK form the previous version? I hate downloading random APKs for fear they've been trifled with.
