Every time i plug into PC, I lose notification audio

no matter what i do, everytime i plug into my pc to copy things from the SD card, and when i unplug it, i lose all notification audio until i reboot. it's any notification, even if they're saved to t he regular internal storage. i have no idea why it's doing this.

snapdragon, verizon regular S7. anyone else have this issue??
